Our experienced guide takes you along the quiet Jurassic coastline beaches where you will hunt, find and learn all about the fossils that make this stretch of coastline so famous.

Dinosaurland Fossil Museum is aimed at children from 5 to 95 with an interest in fossils and dinosaurs.

Water sports are a major part of life in Lyme. Swimming, Water Skiing, Sailing and Windsurfing keep the famous Cobb Harbour alive with activity during the summer months.

Our local Scuba Club also offers exciting wreck diving during the summer months. (subject to proof of qualifications)

Coastal pleasure trips, mackerel fishing and deep sea fishing are all available from Lyme's quaint harbour. The traditional wooden fishing boats leave the harbour throughout the summer. Dolphins have been spotted playing in the bow wave on many trips over the last few years.

There are many 'Heritage' coastal pathways both east and west of the town. As these paths wind their way along cliffs and through woodlands, stunning sea and landscapes may be enjoyed.

Our favourites include: 'The Undercliff’ one of the first of Britain's National Nature Reserves, 'Black Ven,' 'Stonebarrow Hill, 'Trinity Hill' and 'Golden Cap’ the highest point on the south coast.

There are stables from which you can go trekking through the countryside or along the magnificent coastal cliffs.

Believed to be one of the best golf courses in the South West and one of the finest locations in all Britain, the Lyme Regis Golf Club course occupies a cliff top site with glorious coastal views.

The River Axe is a superb trout and sea trout river. It rises near Beaminster in Dorset and flows ends its journey at Axmouth. It The Axe offers excellent game fishing in beautiful farmland, surrounded by abundant wildlife. Sea trout of 4lbs or more are relatively common and fish of 10lb or more are caught most seasons along with the occasional salmon.

Much of the fishing is run by fishing clubs which do not offer visiting day permits. However local organist Alex Davies an experienced fly fisher who has fished the river for fifteen years, is offering an evenings guided sea trout fishing on some excellent private beats for a donation to the Lyme Regis Organ appeal, Charity Registration No. 1115094.
